UAE weather: Rain forecast returns after hail in eastern regions, as Dubai cools to 37°C

Temperatures will remain in the high-30s across Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, while the National Centre of Meteorology warns of possible rainfall, blowing dust and strong winds.

Like yesterday, which saw hail and rain in the eastern region of the country, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts a chance of convective cloud formation eastward once again today, extending towards internal areas. These clouds are expected to bring rainfall.

On X, the NCM shared appropriate safety measures that residents and visitors can follow in such situations:

Take precautions when driving during rainfall.Stay away from areas of flash floods and accumulative rain.Avoid being in open or elevated areas during lightning and thunder.Be alert to downdraft winds that may cause loose objects to fall, and reduce horizontal visibility.Temperatures hold steady in high-30s

While rain brings some respite, temperatures are forecast to remain in the high-30s across most major cities in the UAE today.

Coastal areas and islands are expected to peak between 37°C and 42°C, while internal areas will reach 43°C to 48°C. Abu Dhabi is set to peak at 40°C, while Sharjah will see a high of 39°C, and Dubai and Ajman see a maximum temperature of 37°C today.

Wind and sea conditions

Light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds, which turn fresh to strong at times, may also cause blowing dust, according to the NCM. Wind speeds averaging at 10 to 20km/h, may reach up to 35km/h in coastal areas and 45km/h in internal regions.

However, both the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman will see slight conditions today, which means you can expect gentle waves rising to a maximum of two feet on-shore, and three feet off-shore along both eastern and western coastlines of the UAE.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

Dubai 37°C 30°C

Abu Dhabi 40°C 31°C

Al Ain 46°C 32°C

Sharjah 39°C 31°C

Ajman 37°C 31°C

Fujairah 38°C 31°C

Ras Al Khaimah 40°C 31°C

Umm Al Quwain 38°C 31°C

Liwa 45°C 30°C
