Dubai to Welcome 20,000 Visitors as First ‘Emirates Loves Palestine’ Festival Debuts at Expo City

This will be the first big celebration of the culture of Palestinians in Dubai as the organizers of the “Emirates Loves Palestine” festival hope that there will be more than 20,000 participants at the event that will take place on August 29, Saturday, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai.

The Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan is scheduled to be among the participants of the first-ever gathering of Palestinians and people from other nations of the UAE, dedicated to heritage, cuisine, and culture in general. This celebration is a part of the “Emirates Loves” series.

Attendees can expect a packed cultural programme featuring folk music, comedy acts, craftwork and displays tracing Palestinian heritage.

A dedicated food zone will let visitors sample regional Palestinian dishes, while a separate section will showcase community-led projects and small businesses run by Palestinians based in the UAE. Several Palestinian artists and prominent community figures are expected to appear throughout the day.

Organisers describe the event as a milestone for the Palestinian community in the UAE, framing it as both a cultural showcase and a statement of the social bonds between Emiratis and Palestinian residents.

The festival is being staged by the “Emirates Loves Palestine” platform in collaboration with the UAE-Palestinian Friendship Club and the Palestinian Business Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Officials say the gathering reflects the UAE’s broader emphasis on coexistence and cultural openness, values the country has repeatedly promoted through similar community-focused events for other nationalities.

The Palestinian edition is the latest addition to that series, following previous celebrations of other communities residing in the Emirates.

For residents, the event offers a rare chance to engage directly with Palestinian heritage through live entertainment, cuisine and storytelling, rather than through formal or diplomatic channels.

Organisers hope the turnout will set the tone for the festival to become a recurring fixture on Dubai’s cultural calendar in years ahead.
