Convective cloud formation expected over eastern and southern regions as light to moderate winds may raise dust and sand
Abu Dhabi: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast generally fair to partly cloudy weather across the UAE on Sunday, with a chance of convective cloud formation over some eastern, southern and inland areas during the afternoon, potentially bringing rainfall.
According to the NCM’s daily weather bulletin, the country remains under the influence of an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, accompanied by an upper-air low-pressure extension that may lead to local cloud development.
Temperatures are expected to remain high across most parts of the country, reaching between 45°C and 49°C in internal areas, while coastal and island areas are forecast to record temperatures between 41°C and 46°C. Temperatures in mountainous regions are expected to range from 32°C to 38°C.
Humidity levels will range between 15% and 70% across different regions, with the highest relative humidity expected in coastal and island areas.
The NCM said winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northeast at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, freshening at times and reaching up to 40 km/h, causing blowing dust and sand in some areas.
Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

The NCM forecast similar weather conditions over the coming days, with the possibility of afternoon convective cloud formation over eastern and southern regions.
Monday, 10 August: Fair to partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon convective clouds and rainfall over some eastern and southern areas. Winds may reach 40 km/h.
Tuesday, 11 August: Partly cloudy conditions with a gradual decrease in temperatures, especially along the coasts.
Wednesday, 12 August: Fair to partly cloudy with a probability of afternoon convective cloud development over eastern areas, potentially accompanied by rainfall.
Thursday, 13 August: Fair to partly cloudy with cloud formation over eastern and southern regions and a slight increase in temperatures.
