Dubai Police bring care beyond the crash through hospital visits to road accident victims

Dubai: Dubai Police has visited a number of road traffic accident victims receiving treatment at Rashid Hospital as part of its ‘Relieving the Injured’ initiative, reaffirming its commitment to supporting members of the community beyond the emergency response.

The initiative combines psychological support with road safety awareness, reflecting Dubai Police’s commitment to social responsibility and the human side of policing.

The delegation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Ali Yousif Yaqoub, Head of the Community and Traffic Activities Section at the Traffic Awareness Department. During the visit, the delegation checked on the patients’ wellbeing, presented them with gifts, and shared road safety guidance highlighting the importance of complying with traffic laws and regulations to help prevent accidents and protect lives.

Brigadier Jumaa Salem Bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said the initiative reflects Dubai Police’s human centred approach to supporting victims of road traffic accidents by providing psychological and moral support while continuing its efforts to prevent accidents and enhance road safety.

He added that visiting injured road users sends a powerful humanitarian message, demonstrating Dubai Police’s care for community members in all circumstances. Such visits help raise victims’ morale while also creating an opportunity to remind them and their families of the importance of complying with traffic laws and regulations to reduce accidents and their human and social consequences.

Brigadier Bin Suwaidan further noted that the General Department of Traffic continues to implement community and awareness initiatives that combine humanitarian outreach with preventive messaging. He said promoting a strong road safety culture and responsible behaviour helps protect lives and supports Dubai Police’s goal of making the emirate’s roads safer for everyone.

The injured patients expressed their appreciation to Dubai Police for the visit, noting that the encouragement and moral support they received had a positive impact on their recovery and helped ease the emotional effects of their accidents.
