flydubai resumes Budapest flights from 31 July

Dubai carrier restores direct UAE-Hungary route, strengthening connectivity for leisure, business and visiting friends and relatives travel

Dubai: flydubai has announced the resumption of its direct flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) from 31st July.

The reinstated service restores non-stop connectivity between the UAE and Hungary and is expected to support leisure, business and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travel during the peak summer season. The route also provides convenient access to Dubai and flydubai’s wider network of more than 120 destinations.

The move reflects flydubai’s continued focus on Central and Eastern Europe, building on the growth recorded since the airline first launched flights to the Hungarian capital in 2021.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, said: “The resumption of our Budapest service reaffirms our long-term investment in Hungary and reflects the strong economic and cultural ties between our two nations. Budapest remains one of our most strategic European markets.”

Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, said the route would create new travel, tourism and business opportunities ahead of the autumn and winter travel season.

“As part of our strategic codeshare with Emirates, travel agents and customers can leverage seamless connections, integrated itineraries and joint network reach across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Southeast Asia,” he said.

The return of flights to Budapest follows flydubai’s recent network expansion, which included the launch of services to Aleppo in Syria, Bangkok in Thailand and Benghazi in Libya.

The airline is also set to add Pokhara in Nepal to its growing network from 23rd September.
