Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, said the exchange between His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, was a practical outworking of the UAE’s foreign policy doctrine.
In response to queries on social media following the bilateral talks that occurred on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, Dr. Gargash noted strategic security measures and diplomatic outreach as facets of one and the same coin, observing the deterrent impact of the former enhances the efficacy of the latter while active negotiations occur on mutual grounds of strength.

During the summit discussions, leadership focused on lowering regional friction, restoring stability, and advancing peaceful economic development.
Dr Gargash acknowledged that President Pezeshkian has displayed notable moderation and rational engagement during ongoing regional crises, characterizing his balanced rhetoric as a meaningful factor that cannot be overlooked during a critical diplomatic period.
The diplomatic engagement comes after weeks of heightened regional security concerns, during which Emirati air defense capabilities successfully mitigated hostile projectile threats targeting national infrastructure.
UAE authorities continue to emphasize that long-term regional security cannot rely on temporary arrangements, calling instead for strict adherence to international law, freedom of maritime navigation, and non-interference in sovereign domestic affairs.
Reiterating the country’s commitment to sustainable security, Emirati diplomats noted that constructive state-to-state communication remains the primary pathway toward preventing further escalations and ensuring long-term prosperity across the Middle East. UAE Interact
