The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will experience a period of rainfall of varying intensity from Tuesday to Friday as the country deals with intermittent weather throughout the country, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) noted on Monday. The summer has been intensely hot across the country.
The NCM said that the weather pattern will create convective clouds through parts of the emirates from east and south of the UAE on Tuesday which will lead to scattered rains with isolated intense storms as the precipitation is expected to become heavy at places. The weather pattern is related to the seasonal behavior of the region during the summer.
Authorities have advised residents to stay updated with official weather bulletins, particularly those travelling through mountainous areas or regions that may experience sudden downpours. Reduced visibility, strong winds and temporary water accumulation on roads may accompany periods of rainfall, especially during peak storm activity.
In addition to rain, fresh to strong winds are expected to blow at times, causing blowing dust and sand in exposed areas. These conditions could temporarily reduce horizontal visibility, affecting motorists and outdoor activities. Sea conditions may also become rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea due to increased wind speeds.
The latest forecast highlights the UAE’s seasonal weather pattern, during which moisture and atmospheric instability can trigger thunderstorms despite the intense summer heat. Similar weather events have occurred in previous years, particularly over mountainous regions where convective cloud development is more common.
The NCM continues to monitor the evolving weather system and will issue updates if conditions intensify. Residents are encouraged to exercise caution, avoid flood-prone valleys during rainfall and follow safety guidance issued by relevant authorities.
While daytime temperatures are expected to remain high across much of the country, the anticipated rainfall may provide temporary relief in affected areas. Officials stressed the importance of relying on official forecasts and warnings as weather conditions can change rapidly during periods of atmospheric instability.
