ADX Market Value Reaches Dh2.8 Trillion as Foreign Investors Expand UAE Market Participation

The exchange value of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has reached the highest level ever recorded in the first quarter of 2026. In the first quarter alone, the market value passed Dh2.8 trillion as international investors demonstrated a growing appetite for the UAE market, despite regional volatility.

The exchange recorded that the value of shares traded now reaching Dh85 billion, which is an increase of 22 percent year-over-year, with almost half of the traded value originating from foreign investors.

The event featured more than 3,000 meetings focused on investment opportunities, market resilience and access to regional capital markets.

ADX-listed companies also distributed Dh66.2 billion in dividends during the first quarter, providing another potential attraction for investors seeking income alongside exposure to the UAE economy.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Group chief executive Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi said the market had continued to demonstrate resilience through periods of uncertainty, pointing to corporate performance, business continuity and sustained commercial activity.

The increased foreign participation comes as UAE exchanges seek to broaden their connections with international investors. HSBC recently became the first international bank to operate as a General Clearing Member on ADX, a development intended to make access to Abu Dhabi’s market easier for global participants.

Dubai’s market also recorded stronger international participation during the same period. Dubai Financial Market reported average daily trading value above Dh1 billion, up 56 per cent year on year.

Foreign investors represented 54 per cent of its total trading value, while international investors accounted for 79 per cent of new registrations. The figures underline the expanding role of UAE exchanges as regional investment destinations.

For Abu Dhabi, the combination of a large market base, substantial dividend distributions and rising overseas participation is strengthening the exchange’s position as a channel for global investors seeking exposure to the emirate’s long-term economic growth.
