UAE Travel Update: Flights Continue Normally Despite Select Gulf Route Cancellations

Air travel within the UAE is mostly going as usual even though some airlines have stopped or changed services on Gulf routes as they deal with changing security situations in the region.

Big airlines, such as Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, Emirates and flydubai have said that the majority of their routes are still working.. Flights to a small number of places in the Gulf have been canceled or put on hold because of ongoing checks of the air space and safety evaluations.

Etihad Airways has said that some local flights are being canceled for now and Air Arabia has also changed the times for some of its routes. Emirates and flydubai have implemented similar measures where necessary, emphasising that passenger and crew safety remains their highest priority. Airlines are continuing to monitor the regional situation and may adjust operations if conditions change.

Dubai International Airport, Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah International Airport continue to handle scheduled flights, with airport operations proceeding normally for most travellers. Authorities have not reported widespread disruption, and the majority of departures and arrivals are operating according to schedule. Nevertheless, passengers travelling to Gulf destinations are being advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.

Airlines have urged customers whose flights are affected to use official websites, mobile applications or customer service channels for the latest updates on cancellations, rebooking options and travel advisories. Some carriers are offering flexible booking policies for passengers travelling on impacted routes, allowing itinerary changes without additional fees where applicable.

The selective cancellations come as airlines continue to review flight paths and operational risks amid heightened tensions in parts of the Gulf. Aviation experts note that such measures are precautionary and reflect standard industry practice when regional airspace conditions change. Despite these adjustments, the UAE remains one of the region’s busiest aviation hubs, with international connectivity largely unaffected.

Travellers are encouraged to verify their flight details before departure, allow extra time for airport procedures if necessary and rely on official airline communications for the most up-to-date travel information as the situation continues to evolve.
